Sun Valley Fishing Report - July 8, 2016
The fishing is great right now!
Silver Creek is fishing very well at the right times. Trico and Baetis in the mornings and prolific PMD in the evenings. During the day it is Callibaetis, Baby Hoppers and Damsel Flies. Baby Hoppers when the wind is up and Damsels when the wind is down.
The Big Wood is as clear as gin and the Green Drakes are up north of Ketchum. The Baby Hoppers are out here too, as well as some Golden Stones. Stimulators and Parachute Adams are your best friends.
The South Fork of the Boise is transitioning between Salmon Flies and Pink Alberts.
The Little Wood is fishing well, but the mosquito action is prolific. If you go, be prepared for this!
The Upper Lost is loaded with all the early summer hatches. The volume is still high, but some of it is wadable. The action is lasting all day long right now. Tight wading belts and fishing with a friend should be considered mandatory.
We are seeing the positive effects of a long winter right now!
