Brown Drake Update
We are in the full swing of Brown Drakes on Silver Creek. They have come off the last 3 consecutive nights and as there was another emergence last night there is likely to be more good stuff, think spinner fall, tonight. Last nights spinner fall was relatively light but the fish acted very opportunistically. If you cannot get down to the Creek for the evening thing it's worth the trip to have the Creek to yourself in the morning and early afternoon.
Private Water: We have private water on Silver Creek right behind Picabo Angler. We've said it before, but it really is some of the best Brown Drake water on Silver Creek and you can have it without crowds. We allow no more than 6 rods a night and it's $75 a rod. Call: 208.788.3536 to inquire.
Big Wood River Update:
The Wood has climbed back up in flow and is currently running at 846 cfs with a mean of 1,560 cfs. The Big Wood is still clear, and nymphing where you can get into the water has been productive using #12 Copper Johns, #12 Pheasant Tails, #10 Girddle Bugs, & #12 Epoxy Back Green Drake nymphs. The river will most likely still climb in flow prior to settling and dropping for the summer months.
Big Lost River Update:
The Lower Big Lost is flowing at 499 cfs at the time of writing this with a mean of 877 cfs. At this flow the river is fishable BUT swift in many spots. Should you head over bring a wide assortment of nymph patterns like #16 zebra midges, #10 Girddle Bugs, #14 & #16 Lightning Bugs & #16 pheasant tails. It's also worth throwing a large #8 Royal Stimulator as the indicator fly.
