Brown Drake Update #10

The strangness of this years Brown Drake hatch continues. The hatch has already arrived at Point of Rocks and the Willows. Expect it to linger there through the weekend. The lower reaches of the Creek near Picabo Bridge have very few bugs today. Expect short lived activity in that area. To see the show, be from the Hwy 20 Bridge down through Point of Rocks. With the hatch at it's upstream terminus, this will be our last report on the Drake this week. We'll pick it up again after the weekend if there are still bugs around. Fish upstream, fish hard, have fun and stay kind!

It's on! Picabo Bridge all the way up to the Willows has bugs. The next few nights should be excellent. Watch the weather. One good cloud could start the show at any time!

Stay Kind!

Brown Drake Update #7

Lucky number 7! Last nights cold produced little to no action on the Brown Drake. A warmer day has our hopes up for a special night tonight. Rest assured we are back into the 80's on Sunday and Monday. With enough radiant heat warming the water, there is still a 50 / 50 chance tonight could produce the first true wave of Drakes!

Brown Drake Update #6

Brown Drakes continue to trickle off from Point of Rocks downstream to Picabo Bridge. The inclement weather has cleared and the wind is blowing today. This should change things drastically. Expect a big event the next few nights. If today's wind quits tonight should be good. If not, the weekend should be a slam dunk. Get down here early and enjoy the sunset! Please remember - BE KIND!!!

Brown Drake Update #5

Things change fast during the Drake! The tail end to a small emergence is happening right NOW! The grass has quite a few Drakes in it, so things must have started at first light today with the passing of several big thunderstorms. We can expect a small spinner fall tonight on the lower reaches of the river near Picabo Bridge.

Brown Drake Update #4

We saw exactly ZERO Drakes last night. The bands from a very strong storm rolled into the Silver Creek Valley, just as things should have been ramping up. Looking at the weather, the weekend should produce some action. Sunday is supposed to be the hottest day, but Friday and Saturday don't look bad. With that said, we'll still be on the water tonight having a look around. Watch the weather, especially the temps and hopefully we see you this weekend!

Brown Drake Update #3

The Drakes have arrived! Last night we saw a handful of spinners about an hour before sunset. Only a few fish came to the surface, but now that the train has left the station, there's no going back. Tonight, may or may not be a good night depending on today's storms. Keep an eye on the weather and watch the report here. If the storms clear early, it could be an epic night...if they linger then think about the weekend and the rest of this week! The weekend weather looks good for the Drake!
