Sun Valley Fishing Report - August 26, 2016

The Creek continues with great fishing. Callibaetis hatches in the afternoon have nice Baetis bookends in both the morning and the evening. Brooks Sprout in a size 20/22/24 can be a the difference between catching fish and not catching them when the Baetis rise is on.

The Hopper and Mouse fishing on the Creek is also getting better by the day (and night). The Browns have begun their spawning run and with it they bring a nasty attitude and a need to pack on the calories!

The Upper Lost and the Big Wood continue to fish well, with the biggest fish being caught in the most discreet places. Close to the banks, under the trees and bushes and adjacent fast water are all spots to find them. Flying Ants, Hoppers and small Attractors are what you need to get them to eat.

The lower Lost is in the middle of Trico Madness and the flows are wadable. The Trico is tiny, so be sure to grab some size 24/26 from us before you head over. Many an angler shows up to see a bunch of rising fish only to have a box full of flies that are to big.

The South Fork of the Boise is being the South Fork of the Boise. Hoppers on the banks and Alberts in the riffles. The Flying Ant is also a great choice if you find fish looking up!
