Sun Valley / Picabo Area Fishing Update - June 8, 2016

The local rivers continue to be blown out from spring run-off, with the exception of Silver Creek. This spring creek is a game saver for us locally. The Baetis activity yesterday was outstanding and long lasting. Our guide Andrew Thomas reported Baetis with fish up eating them from 9:00 to 11:30.

We also had a lot of anglers reporting that the Damsel Fly action was in full swing, with fish leaping form the water to get them. This is a common sight this time of the year. The fish are hungry and they want to make every hatch count.

The PMD action remains really strong in the afternoon hours. The magic hour of 4:00 p.m. is the time it gets going most days.

Green Drakes are also coming onto the scene throughout the Nature Conservancy waters. Don't head to the Creek without them.

There is a lot of fun to be had on the Creek this week. We look forward to seeing you!
